“Fix your eyes on Christ”
Text: Hebrews 12:2-4
Introduction: We live in a society where we are constantly looking for something. The question is, is what you are looking for able to sustain you? Is it able to protect you and keep you as you sojourn through the struggles of life. Coronavirus has caused us as a people to look and view life different than we use too. We have had to adjust in order that life goes on in every facet of life. The Christian community is challenged to re-think and reform our way of worship, yet there are some who are holding on, thinking that things are going to return to normal. That maybe or may not be true. Should we sit around waiting and doing absolutely nothing, hoping that God will send us a breakthrough or should we proceed in faith trusting Him to see us through? Our text today is enlightening and inspiring to every believer and it give us a sense of hope as we go through these difficult days. Three questions are answered in our text. What, why, and how we are to look unto Jesus.
Object of our Salvation ( Heb. 12:2, Isa. 45:21-22)
Example of our Life (Heb. 12:2-3)
Subject of our Theme (Heb. 12:3, John 1:36)
Consummation of our Hopes ( Heb. 12:2-3, Heb. 9:28, Phil. 3:20-21)
Closure: If our churches are going to be effective in the kingdom building process, God is looking for, He is in need of, and wants to empower men and women to commit to the task. Will you begin the journey today. Those of us who have already made the commitment to follow, are your eyes still fixed on the Savior? I know there is a tendency to look in all the wrong places! You ought to look to Jesus, because He is everything you need. He joy in the morning, He is my hope for tomorrow, He is shelter in the time of the storm. He is everything that you need! Our family relations would be better if we would only look to Jesus. Our communities would be better we would only look to Jesus. Our schools would be better if we would only look to Jesus. We all have a responsibility the question is, Can you (we) fix our eyes on Jesus? Just keep on looking up to Him! When God needed some one to count on, the Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He came, showed us how to live committed lives, He died because He was committed to His Father's will, I said He died You'll from the sixth until the ninth hour..........................
